Design and technology at Church Eaton is a rigorous and practical subject. Pupils will use their creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve problems within a variety of contexts. All children will develop a broad range of subject knowledge and make cross-curricular links with mathematics, science, computing and art. Children will learn how to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. Our high-quality design and technology education will make essential contributions to creativity, culture, wealth and well-being.

Art at Church Eaton is taught discretely in each class. Where possible, the DT topic will link to the wider foundation topic.  All of our DT topics use the Cornerstones curriculum as a basis for lessons to ensure there is appropriate coverage of the national curriculum. Our DT lessons build the skills needed for a particular area of art before producing a final product at the end of each block of lessons. All final DT projects will be evaluated and analysed using the bank of vocabulary they have developed throughout their lessons.
