English

English at Church Eaton promotes high standards of language and literacy by equipping all pupils with a strong command of the spoken and written language. A love of literature will be developed through widespread reading for enjoyment.

Pupils will be able to appreciate our rich and varied literary heritage with all lessons being linked to our overarching topic. Opportunities will be given for pupils to write coherently for a range of purposes and audiences. Pupils will become competent in the arts of speaking and listening, making formal presentation, demonstrating to others and participating in debate.
