Intent

French at Church Eaton fosters pupils’ curiosity, deepen their understanding and provide an opening to other cultures. All pupils will express their thoughts in another language in order to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. Our French curriculum also provides opportunities for children to communicate for practical purposes, learn new ways of thinking and read literature in the original language. By learning French, pupils will be equipped to learn further languages, or study and work in other countries. Pupils will increase their confidence, fluency and spontaneity through discussion and asking questions.

Implementation

French at Church Eaton is taught discretely using Twinkl as a base for learning. Pupils will be given ample opportunity to take part in French discussions with their peers and will build upon learning in previous classes.
