Intent

Geography at Church Eaton inspires a curiosity in pupils and a fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Our curriculum equips pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. Pupils will develop a growing knowledge about the world which will help them to deepen their understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.

Implementation

Geography at Church Eaton is taught using the Cornerstones curriculum with each class having a topic (usually termly). Through their geographical learning, pupils will become competent in collecting, analysing and communicating with a range of data gathered through fieldwork. An understanding of the processes that give rise to key physical and human geographical features of the world will be gained by all pupils. Technical vocabulary will be developed throughout their time at Church Eaton, where they will use this to make inferences about geographical processes.
