Intent
PSHE at Church Eaton ensures that children are 21st Century ready. We allow all pupils to develop skills to think ‘beyond their time’. As a school, we believe RSE (Relationship and Sex Education) is an important part of learning and we use our PSHE curriculum to teach about these key aspects of life. Our PSHE lessons improve non-cognitive skills, physical health, emotional wellbeing and safeguarding.
Implementation
PSHE at Church Eaton is taught using the PSHE Association curriculum. Teachers adapt planning to focus upon skills and attributes that are specific to the community and individual needs of our children. Each core theme is taught over a term, with PSHE bein
g taught weekly. This is taught by the class teacher where they facilitate children’s learning. Questions are asked to provoke thought and appropriate debate. RSE is taught within the broader PSHE education programme; enhanced by learning related to topics including anti-bullying; keeping safe on and off-line; keeping physically and mentally healthy.
