Intent

Our EYFS team plan and deliver differentiated activities that support and stretch all learners in EYFS in a nurturing environment allowing all children to flourish. We offer a curriculum which is broad and balanced, and which builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills of all children, whatever their starting points. Following the revised 2021 Early Years curriculum, we plan themes and enrichment opportunities which are led by the children’s interests and our local area and environment.

Implementation

At Church Eaton we use Development Matters 2021 through Curriculum Maestro to ensure that the firm foundation taught can be built on in future learning. Opportunities are established through a multi-sensory approach to learning, which is accessible for all types of children and is designed to capture and inspire the inquisitive nature of children in Early Years. Running in partnership, we plan and celebrate the Characteristics of Effective Learning.

Welcome to Class 1!

Our project this half term is called Long Ago. This project teaches children about how they have grown and changed since they were babies and how life in the past was different from today.

Our PE day is only Friday now as we are continuing with Jungle Journey in school and we have a lot of physical play outside for the children to explore. Please ensure the children have their PE kits on a Friday as PE occurs in the morning.
