The school Governors (now known as the LAC – Local Academy Council) are a group of people who make decisions about how our school is run.  They have legal duties, powers and responsibilities and meet in school at least once a term.

LAC members (Governors) are appointed to help:

  • Decide what is taught
  • Set standards of behaviour
  • Interview and select staff
  • Make decisions regarding the budget

School LAC members (Governors) are:

  • Parents
  • Community Representatives
  • Teachers at the school
  • Non-teaching members of school
  • Governors have equal voting rights and equal status in the work of the Governing Body.

SUAT supports and leads in the set-up of new academies joining the partnership. The sevices provided by the central support function cover both educational and non-educational support. In terms of educational support, SUAT is linked to the School of Education of Staffordshire University, which is an outstanding ITT provider.
