Solution Circles (Restorative Practice)

Regular sessions where pupils talk, reflect, and work together to solve problems and build positive relationships.

Overview

Solution Circles take place twice a week and provide time for pupils to discuss challenges and find solutions together. These sessions use restorative approaches to encourage reflection and positive behaviour. Pupils also use the language of the Zones of Regulation to understand and explain their feelings.

Building a Strong Community

Solution Circles encourage pupils to listen to one another and solve problems together. This helps build trust and positive relationships within the class. Pupils learn how their actions affect others and how to repair relationships.

Supporting Understanding of Diversity

Every pupil has the opportunity to share their views and feelings. Listening to different perspectives helps pupils understand that people experience situations in different ways. This encourages empathy, respect, and inclusion.

Creating Opportunities for All Pupils (Social Mobility)

These sessions help pupils develop communication, emotional awareness, and problem-solving skills. Children learn how to manage emotions and resolve disagreements calmly. These skills support success both in school and beyond.
