We are a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class taught by Miss Grech, with classroom support from our Learning Support Assistant, Mrs Corcoran.
We follow a broad and balanced curriculum with a strong focus on developing core skills in reading, writing and mathematics, alongside an engaging programme of foundation subjects. A key focus for our Year 1 pupils is the development of phonics skills, helping children to build confidence in reading and spelling as they prepare for the Phonics Screening Check later in the year.
We aim to provide a calm, purposeful and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to take pride in their work, develop independence and build confidence as learners.
At Church Eaton we work in 6 week blocks. We create a block overview for each class that sums up the learning for each block! Please see those block overviews for this year here:
SUAT supports and leads in the set-up of new academies joining the partnership. The services provided by the central support function cover both educational and non-educational support. In terms of educational support, SUAT is linked to the School of Education of Staffordshire University, which is an outstanding ITT provider.
